Obituary for Norman Ernest WHITELL

WHITELL: Norman Ernest: August 4, 1947 – December 24, 2015. Norman will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a distinguished and dedicated worker. His history includes 5 years with Ontario County roads department, retired after 35 years with Simcoe County roads department, 49 years a grass cutter and farmer at heart for life. Beloved husband for 37 years of Sharon, loving father to Russell (Moira), Christopher (Rebecca), proud poppa to Mathew, Mikhayla, James, Grace and Nathan. Loving son of the late Ernest and the late Annie Mae (Chambers) Whitell and son in law of Helena (Scott) Mitchell. Loved and proudly remembered by his sister Barbara (Ray) Mercer, brother in law to late Wayne Mitchell, late Cecilia Burton, Marylou (Randy) O’Connell, Donnie (Dianne) Mitchell, Kelly Mitchell and Gord (Cindy) Mitchell. Uncle to Heather Turner, Carolyn Rastorfer, late Johnathon Mitchell, Billy (Michele) Mitchell, Brian (Laura) Burton, Bobbie-Anne (Everett) Wilcox, late Jeffery Mitchell, Terri-Lynn Mitchell and great uncle to Adelaide, Hudson, Grace, Jackson, Jacey, Kylee, Samantha and Olivia. Cherished friend to many. Greatly missed by Toby – best friends for life. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life gathering at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 488, Con. Rd. 4, Brechin on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 1 PM to 4 PM, with a time of reflection and words of remembrance scheduled at 2 PM. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Norman to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA would be greatly appreciated by the family.
