Obituary for George Thomas GILES
GILES: George Thomas – in his 88th year. Proprietor of Giles Towing & Storage in Brechin, Ont. for 37 years until his retirement in 2010. Long-time member of the Mara Fire Dept. After a brief but courageous battle with cancer and with his family at his side, George has pulled a Hank Snow and is “Movin on!” Son of William Giles and Margaret Durward Elliot. Survived by his wife Rose, son Erwin (Catherine), daughter Cindy, sisters Mary and Irene, four grandsons, two great-granddaughters, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Losee), son Baby George Giles, grandson Benjamin, sister Betty and companion Joan Howard. Family and friends will be received at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton on Tuesday from 2 – 4 PM and 7 – 9 PM. and on Wednesday March 30, 2016 from 12 noon until time of funeral service at 1 P.M. Interment Stone Church Cemetery, Beaverton. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Perrigo, all the specialists, and all the staff at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. If so desired, memorial donations in memory of George to the Ramara Cancer Society or the Brechin United Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
