January 3, 1925 – July 13, 2017

Passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her daughter on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Lakeview Manor in Beaverton in her 92nd year.

Elizabeth (Betty) was of Hungarian descent and was born in Saskatchewan on the family farm at NE.20- 24-5-W.2nd near Otthon. She left the prairies for an employment opportunity in Val d’Or, Quebec. It was here that she met “Charlie”, her beloved husband of 58 years.

She will be greatly missed by her loving daughters, Diane (Danny) Di Santo, Linda (Jerry) Allan, Pearl Little. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Corey, Melissa, Toby and Daniel.

She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Henri Bérubé (June 2009), her brother, Emrick Louis Latkoczky (April 2016), her mother, Martha Latkoczky (née Kovacs) (November 1991), and her father, Louis Latkoczky (1938).

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Frances McCordic, nurses, caregivers and administrative staff at Lakeview Manor for their care and compassion. Also a special thank you to Dr. Mateya Trinkaus and staff at the Markham Stouffville Hospital and Dr. Zahra Kassam and staff at the Stronach Regional Cancer Center at Southlake in Newmarket.

Family and friends will be received at the Mangan Funeral Home 332 Osborne St. Beaverton on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 1:00 pm at St. Joseph’s Parish, 573 Simcoe Street, Beaverton with Father Oswin Fernandes officiating. A private family interment will follow at Verulum Cemetery in Bobcaygeon.
