SPROXTON: Eleanor Jean - With heavy hearts we announce that Eleanor Jean Sproxton of Woodville Ontario,peacefully passed away at age 83 surrounded by family on the afternoon of October 11 2017. From her birth in Unionville, Ontario on August 26, 1934 to her death she nourished people and the land around her with tireless love and devotion. She was raised on a farm near Stouffville by Oliver and Laura Reid and was the Third of Seven children. Left to honour “Ellie” and remember her love are her four children David, Norm, George (Jean), and John (Karen); Eleven Grandchildren; Steven, Bruce, Andrew, Michael, Mitchell, Adam (Rachael), Nicole, Ashley, Kyle, Drew, and Marissa; Four Great-Grandchildren; Liam, Cylus, Kloe, And Huxley; Five Siblings; Eileen, Frank, Marion, Dale, and Donna; and many nieces and nephews; Eleanor was predeceased by her parents, and brother Gord, as well as her loving husband Herbert. She will be remembered as a bright, strong and dedicated farmer, sports-lover and family woman in the church and community she served. Family and friends will be received at the Mangan Funeral Home Beaverton, on Sunday October 15, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday October 16, 2017 inside the Woodville United Church at 1 p.m.Rev. Wanda Stride officiated. Burial followed at Smith Cemetery just outside of Woodville. The Sproxton family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to everyone who sent their condolences or joined us to honour and celebrate Eleanor’s life.
