Obituary for Betty Marion BROWN (Harman)

BROWN: Betty Marion (nee HARMAN)- passed away peacefully at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital on March 1st, 2018 surrounded by her devoted family. Predeceased 12-days shy of 13 years by her best friend and beloved husband Morley Roy (Mike) Brown. Survived by her loving siblings Margaret, Merlin, Shirley and Bill, and her dear brother-in-law Earl A. Brown of Dartmouth, NS. Forever loved by her children Linda (Bruce), Sam (Kit), Donna (Gary), George (Marnie), Jim (Lynn) and Scott (Brenda). Betty’s 12 grandchildren will never forget the countless, fun and laughter-filled, childhood memories at the Bolsover family home and will cherish the rare gift of knowing our grandmother during our adulthood. Betty loved to dote on her 8 great grandchildren and we promise that they – and our future additions! – will know the fierce spirit that was their great grandma. The family is comforted knowing Mike and Betty are reunited; their spirits live on through their family and we will always think of them with a deep sense of pride. We would like to thank the community members of Kirkfield, Woodville and especially Bolsover for all the support and friendship they gave Mike and Betty, beginning in 1953 when they bought and ran Brown’s Corner Store. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) or the Royal Canadian Legion in Woodville, Branch 184. A private family service will be held in the spring in Bolsover followed by a celebration of life on Saturday, April 14th, 2018 from 1:00-4:00p.m. at the Woodville Legion.
