The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Gordon THORN can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Larry & Lori Swain (Ottawa)
Condolence: To Gwen Arlene, Carson and Christine:
We (and I in my younger years) have very fond memories of the times when we saw your dad and mom. My earliest memory of your dad was when our family (Alf, Dolores, my then two brothers and I) visited your family in Unionville - I recall that Gwen was about seven or eight years old. Lori and I also recall the times at Harold and Dorothy's when both sides of the family got together for various events. I last spoke with your dad by telephone in 2003 to let him know that my father, Alf Swain, had passed away. In our conversation, Gordon also remembered the good times together. With our deepest sympathy to you and Hilda.

Condolence From: Allan & Leslie Thorn
Condolence: Uncle Gordon was a huge influence in my life even though I was just married to Al. He would call our house, even if Al answered he would ask for me. Al always kidded me that he liked me more than him. He was a very caring and understanding man. We had plenty of heated conversations over the years, but he always listened to other opinions. I think I connected with him because he was very family orientated and I am the same. We have lived in Alberta for the last 8 years and have only communicated by phone but it was all I had to give. Al and I will both miss him very much but he is in Gods hands now and reunited with his siblings. I will miss his calls to ask me if we are taking the vitamins he wanted us to take. R.I.P. we love you.
