June and Thorah Island
June was most content when she was at her home on Thorah Island. There she was surrounded by comforting things -- the house in which she was born, the wild beauty of the island and her memories of friends and family. She was remarkably patient with young children and loved reading to them. Whenever we couldn't find Adam and Andrew (Kuster) they would inevitably be next door at June's place, sharing cookies and basking in her attention. June's life was marked by change and challenge; we know that she is now at peace.
